The Internet creates exciting opportunities as well as interesting challenges.
Confidence building. It takes careful attention to build trust. There are several ways that I will try to help. Naturally, I offer an initial consultation at no cost. I'm eager to share references; all of the organizations and people listed on the connections page can speak about our work together.
Getting started. If you believe that I can be useful to you, we'll draw up a simple memo of understanding that spells out what you need, what I will deliver, when it will be delivered to you and in what form, and at what points you will be expected to pay. This MOU will contain a small "deliverables-payment chart" that we'll use to track of our progress over time.
Communication. I'm based in Denver, Colorado USA. Denver is on Mountain Standard Time, which is –6 hours Coordinated Universal Time. Email (david@mirrorcommunication.com), Skype (dmirror) and, when needed, a project web site, give us a way to "meet" regularly online. Send an email to suggest a time that might be convenient for both of us to talk using Skype, voice over internet, cell phone or a land line, or to chat online using an instant message service. I check email at least hourly during the work day.
Compatibility. I can open documents created in many word processing programs and can return text with which I've been working in Microsoft Word (.doc) format, in Adobe PDF (.pdf) and as rich text (.rtf) format. I work with most standard graphic formats and can return work to you in Adobe PDF (.pdf) format or as 'native' graphic files.
Editing and checking. I prefer to color edited text rather than use a complex "track changes" system. I mark text that I've changed in blue. I mark text that I've added or about which I need feedback in red. Unless you specifically ask for help with formatting, I ignore it.
Payments and receipts. We'll work systematically, step by step: I'll expect payment from you as I deliver results to you. You can send payment using PayPal or by wiring funds directly to the Mirror Communication bank account. I'll always send you an invoice when a payment is due and I will confirm your payment with an emailed receipt.
